Where the old west meets the new west. The town of Steamboat Springs offers more than just an old-west atmosphere -- there is the skiing three miles away (more later), there are the hot springs themselves (check them out) and there are plenty of activities, restaurants and fun to suit every taste and budget.
The town is over 100 years old, but modern in every amenity. The ski hill is a great family and intermediate skiing destination. The skiing ranges from beginners fun to expert but not too difficult tree skiing (don't look at the trees -- look where you want to go!). And there are kid's and teen programs that give the mountain its family appeal. With close to 3,000 skiable acres, Steamboat offers every level of terrain and it's all easy to reach by a vast lift system including the Silver Bullet TM eight-passenger gondola. This year powder-hounds will head for Pioneer Ridge, the resort's newest mountain. On and off the mountain you'll discover small-town hospitality and friendly service.
